TPS65988: BC1.2 /MFI/PD3: functional test during manufacturing

Hello,

my customer is asking for the best way to implement functional test for USB ports. The idea is to make a functional test to verify that USB-A port BC1.2 or Apple MFI is properly working or USB-C PD is properly working, Just to check port controllers and port connectors are correctly soldered and working before packaging the product to be sold.

Do you have experience what is the best way to do this? Can this be done with an evaluation board with special firmware ?

Hi Marc,

Testing end equipment is something that is typically designed and done by the customer. In the past, I have seen customers doing functional level tests with other released products.

it is clear that this is not TI responsibility, still I feel we could support here. Can you help to share your experience with on how / with what functional level tests are performed ?

I have only seen customers test interoperability with other released Type-C PD devices.
