DS90UB913 compatibility with MP Camera

Hello,

I need to double-check compatibility of the DS90UB913 with the OV10635 Megapixel camera. Below is a link to the spec sheet:

http://www.ovt.com/download_document.php?type=sensor&sensorid=115

The output interfaces from the camera are 10-bit DVP, which appears to be supported after looking through the DS90UB913 datasheet. It also lists output formats of up to 18-bit combined RAW, or separated 10-bit RAW and 8/10-bit YUV422. Can the DS90UB913 still support this output format? My guess is that it does.

Thanks,

Luis Cordova

  • You are correct - there are many camera designs that use the DS90UB913A and the OVT10635, either in 10 bit or 12 bit modes.  Depending on how the image sensor is configured, it will pack the various different formats into the 10 or 12 bits and the ISP at the receive end of the link will sort out the data.

  • Mark,

Thanks for your answer here. This camera feed will likely be transmitted up to the maximum length listed in the datasheet (25m).

What conditions should exist to ensure this is feasible? As I currently understand it, we want to minimize jitter and have a slower frequency on the transmission line. The minimum for the 10-bit mode is 20MHz (max 100MHz) which also falls into the CLK range of the camera inpt CLK. Would this be possible and at the same time would this minimize the loss during transmission across a 25m high quality cable?
