DS90UB953-Q1: Can the GPIO of the 953 be used to send clock to 954?

Hi Team,

We would like to send digital mic. data with 953 & 954. Can we use the GPIO of the 953 to write registers to send clock( 0-1-0-1...) to 954?

Hello-

Any of the 953 GPIOs can be configured as input that can take a signal (including a clock signal) that is then sent over the FPD-Link III forward channel to a compatible deserializer (e.g. 954). The signal then can be output on one of the 954 GPIOs configured as an output. For more information review Section 7.3.6.4 of the 953 datasheet.

But how to handle the I2S master? D-MIC need BCLK input, who will provide the clock?

Hello-

Do you have a datasheet of the D-MIC that describes required interface in detail? What are the input clock requirements? Frequency, jitter, any other timing requirements? What signals are coming out of the D-MIC? Any timing specifics?

Hi,
I am going to use SPH0645LM4H-B from knowles as D-MIC. fclk is 2048~4096khz. TIE clock jitter should less than 10ns. Duty cycle 40~60%.
