TPS65981: Firmware Programming using Cheetah SPI Host Adapter

Part Number: TPS65981

Hi,

We have TPS65981 mounted on our boards and flashing the application image as below.

1. Made a custom UFP device image with 5V/2A sink PDO and generated a full flash image (.BIN file).

2. We have Total Phase Cheetah SPI Host Adapter which is connected to the SPI boot memory of TPS65981 and flashed this .BIN file. The SPI lines are only connected to memory and adapter (isolated from TPS65981) while flashing and SPI memory is powered separately by 3.3V. After this, SPI lines are connected to TPS65981 and perform the power cycle.

Is the above steps load the application image to SPI memory properly and ensure proper operation? However, we observe no PD contract is established with PD adapter. Could you please confirm the above method is the right one?

Regards,
