ISO1050: communication failed sometime

Part Number: ISO1050

Hi Team

When using ISO1050, customer found abnormal CAN communication sometimes. In contrast to normal waveform, no level change was found on the bus and there should be no data from time to time. This abnormal is not frequently, just sometime occurs.

There are no signs of burn-out, the power supply is ok, and  measurement CAN pin impedance is the same as the normal chip.

Below attached the schematic, could you give me some hint to go next?

  • Hi Gene,

Thank you for reaching out to us!

The ISO1050 CAN bus is just a differential buffer to the TXD. Hence, The expectation is the CAN bus always outputs the data that it reads from the TXD pin.

It is unclear to me why there is no level change from time to time with the given information.

Could you please provide the following information?

    1. How many devices have you seen with this issue?

    2. Could you please provide the TX, and bus waveform when the device is not transition?

    3. Could you also provide the part number for the TVS diode that is used?

    Regards,

    Alfred

  • Hi Gene,

Do you have any updates on the requests?

    Thanks,
