ISO1640: VDE Certification

Part Number: ISO1640
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ISO1644,

Hi Team,

We would like to ask your help regarding the customer's inquiry below.

VDE certification
I have seen in the web ti page of the product (www.ti.com/.../ISO1640 certification VDE is planned.
But I have downloaded the doc available in the website (VDE Certificate for Basic Isolation for DIN VDE V 0884-11:2017-01 (Rev. S)) it is indicated "ISO164_-D' in page 6. Does it mean that VDE certification is available for this chip?

Non-definitive Datasheet: In our application we are far from stressing your component. More in detail our temperature range is much reduced: max amb temp to be 65°C and the I2C communication freq is 100KHz, far from max spec. Based on these not so-constraint work conditions, Could you confirm us there will little possibility that the final datasheet of this chip will not fullfill our Application?

Regards,

Danilo

  • Hi Danilo,

Thank you for posting to E2E! VDE certification to DIN VDE V 0884-11 is complete for ISO164x devices in the 8-pin "D" package. This certification was issued recently, and we have not yet updated the device datasheet to reflect the certificate number. The certificate shown in the product page on TI.com is current.

If ISO1640 is being used in the "D" package, then it is also already fully released and the datasheet specifications fully apply except for those marked for "ISO1644" or for "DW-16" package devices. Thus, there is no concern in using the ISO1640BD up to 65dC temperatures, with 100kHz communication speeds.

Please let us know if you have additional questions.

    Respectfully,

  • Hi Manuel,

Thank you very much for this information.
