ISO7742: P2P replace ADUM1442

Part Number: ISO7742
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ISO7021, ISO7041

Hi team,

Just would like to confirm with you that can ISO7742 P2P replace ADUM1442? Do you have any other device recommendations?

Thank you!

Regards,

Ivy

  • Hi Ivy,

    Thanks for reaching out.

ADuM144x family is an ultra low power digital isolator family and the equivalent family at TI is ISO70xx. The ISO70xx family only has two part numbers / variants - ISO7041 and ISO7021. Hence, we do not have a P2P part for ADuM1442 but have ISO7041 that is meets or exceeds most of ADuM1442 functionality but has different channel configuration (41 as against 42).

ISO7742 in 16-pin QSOP is going to match the pin-out of ADuM1442 in 16-pin QSOP but ISO7742 won't be as low power as ADuM1442. If ultra low power consumption isn't customer requirement and if ISO7742 current consumptions are fine with customer then they can use ISO7742 in place of ADuM1442 without any issues. Thanks.
