ISOW1432: Any downside using 3.3V for both Vdd & Vio?

Part Number: ISOW1432

Hi,

For the sake of simplicity and reduced BOM, is there any downside using the same 3.3V source for both Vio and Vdd (Logic Side) ?

Will communication performance deteriorate if using 3.3V instead let's say 5V?

Thanks!

  • Hi Emmanuel,

Thanks for reaching out and for your interest in ISOW1432.

It is perfectly fine to use the same 3.3V power supply to connect to both VDD and VIO. These IO and power supply sections of device are provided with separate powering options for flexibility to the user allowing them to power them with different voltages if need be. But if both of them are to be operated at the same voltage, it is perfectly fine to use the same power supply rail.

Please refer to below power supply configuration function table from datasheet to know all the voltage configurations that are supported by the device. Thanks.
