ISO1540: why iso1540 is suitable for multi-master ?

In datasheet,  ''The ISO1541 is useful in applications that have a
single master while the ISO1540 is suitable for multimaster applications.''

Could you help me explain the mean in details , why iso1540 is suitable for multi-master ?

    Thanks for reaching out.

    ISO1541 has a bidirectional data channel (SDA) and a unidirectional clock channel (SCL). This makes ISO1541 transmit clock from only one device which initiates the communication and other nodes cannot initiate. Hence, it is suitable for applications where there is only one master.

    While ISO1540 has both data and clock as bidirectional channels, hence, any device on the bus can initiate communication by transmitting the clock. Thus, this device is suitable for multi-master applications.
