ISO1044: Question regarding 'Certificate planned'

Part Number: ISO1044
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ISO1042

Hello,

We need an reinforced isolated CAN transceiver and ISO1044 is in our radar, but when we check the datasheet. All safety related certification is on the status of 'planned'.

1. What's the timeline that all the certification can be issued?

2. Is there a possibility that this IC failed to get some of the certification?

3. If our final product using ISO1044 needs isolation certification (not sure if needed) from the third party, will the 'Certificate planned' status of the ISO1044 affect our product certification? Not sure if this question should be addressed to you.

  • Hi Qingxuan,

Thanks for reaching out and for your interest in ISO1044.

ISO1044 has completed all the necessary certifications while the datasheet hasn't been updated yet. You can find all certifications related to ISO1044 on its product page under technical documentation section, I am copying below a direct link to it.

I would also like to mention that ISO1044 doesn't offer reinforced isolation, it only supports basic isolation. For reinforced isolated CAN, I would recommend you to take a look at the ISO1042. The device offers reinforced isolation and also has higher overall performance than ISO1044. ISO1042 is also available in multiple packages supporting basic ('B' versions) and reinforced isolation (no 'B' suffix). The device has also completed all the necessary certifications. I am copying below a link to ISO1042 product page. Thanks.
