ISO1430: What is the optimal choice if 1 Mbps data rate is specified.

Part Number: ISO1430
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ISO1450,

Hello,

I am selecting a isolated half-duplex rs485 transceiver with our requirement specified 1 Mbps Data rate needed.

I see ISO14xx series fits our application. What I see from TI website and some other distributor that the ISO1430 and ISO1450 have the same price even though ISO1450 can support higher data rate than ISO1430. So in our case which only 1 Mbps is required, which one shall I choose between ISO1430 or ISO1450, considering that they have the same price.

Thanks

  • Hi Qingxuan,

Thanks for reaching out and for your interest in ISO1430.

If the requirement is 1Mbps and is not expected to increase beyond 12Mbps, I would suggest to choose ISO1430. ISO1450 is a much higher datarate device with higher input bandwidth and hence, it is best to choose a device with lowest input bandwidth that is higher than the requirement to block high frequency noise. Although it might not make a big difference, it would still be best to choose ISO1430 for 1Mbps datarate. Thanks.
