ISO6740: Propagation delay time

Part Number: ISO6740

Hi team,

I received a question from the customer.

The customer is concerned about min time of propagation delay time at 5-V supply.

I understand that only Typ and Max are defined.

From the PWD, If L->H tPLH is 18 ns (max) and immediately after H->L, is tPHL =11 ns (min.) considered?

Regards,

Masa

  • Hi Adachi-san,

    Thanks for reaching out.

The customer is concerned about min time of propagation delay time at 5-V supply.

The maximum propagation delay time is the one that most customers would require to estimate the maximum datarate and other timings. Minimum prop delay isn't usually a parameter that's required for any analysis, for this reason, we do not characterize our devices for min prop delay.

From the PWD, If L->H tPLH is 18 ns (max) and immediately after H->L, is tPHL =11 ns (min.) considered?

This is unlikely to happen for most samples. The variation is generally not going to be as wide as the specifications in datasheet. Most parameters will have typical prop delays and if one delay shifts upwards, the other also likely shift a little bit upwards. Thus, it is very unlikely that you will see tPLH and tPHL hit the opposite ends of specifications immediately in a single unit.

Let me know if you have any further questions, thanks.

Thank you for your kind review of the contents.

I understand. I will tell the customer.
