ISO1432: XISOW1432DFMR to ISOW1432BDFMR?

Part Number: ISO1432
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ISOW1432

Hello,

I was wondering what the difference in the XISOW and ISOW is. The supply for these chips are low, does anyone know if a ISOW1432BDFMR will work on a PCB that currently has a XISOW1432DFMR?

Thanks!

  • Hi Travis,

    Welcome to TI E2E forum!!

ISOW1432 is the generic part number while ISOW1432DFMR is the orderable part number for a reinforced device and ISOW1432BDFMR is for basic version. These two parts mainly differ in the reinforced and basic rating which is determined by surge performance of device.

'X' prefixed devices are engineer samples that are primarily meant for evaluation only and are usually available before the device fully released. Once the device is released 'X' prefixed versions generally stop being sold. Hence, it is perfectly fine to use the ISOW1432BDFMR (basic isolation) in place of XISOW1432BDFMR (basic isolation) or XISOW1432DFMR (reinforced isolation) when your requirement is only basic isolation. If you need reinforced isolation, then you would be using ISOW1432DFMR (reinforced isolation).

I hope that you with the clarification you were seeking for. Thanks.

  • Thank you!
Now I just need to figure out if I can get by with the basic isolation chip if the board has a reinforced chip currently due to stock issues.
