ISO1640: Same side ±8 kV IEC-ESD unpowered contact discharge on SCL2 and SDA2 (Side 2)

Part Number: ISO1640

Dear TI Experts,

According to datasheet of ISO1640BD:

Same side ±8 kV IEC-ESD unpowered contact discharge on SCL2 and SDA2 (Side 2)

I am wondering whether it is possible to get the same electrical characteristic but when the device is powered.

Thanks so much in advance. Best Regards,

Javier

  • Hi Javier,

    Thanks for reaching out.

Sorry, the device currently doesn't support ±8kV IEC ESD contact discharge for powered test condition. Let me know if you have any further questions, thanks.

  • Hi Javier,

Sorry that the information that I shared in earlier doesn't seem to be completely accurate.

I had a quick update from the design team that although we didn't test the device for ±8kV IEC ESD contact discharge under powered test condition, we do not see a reason why the device should fail this test. We expect the device to sustain ±8kV ESD without any damages even during powered test condition. Hence, you can go ahead and test the device and let us know your observations. Thanks.
