ISO7330C: Regarding 6pin(NC), is it possible to connect GND

Part Number: ISO7330C
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ISO7340C, , ISO7730

Dear Specialists,

My customer is considering ISO7330 instead of ISO7340.

They have a question about NC pin connection, so I would be grateful if you could advise.

---

Due to the poor availability of ISO7340C, we are considering replacing the same package with ISO7330C.

Since the channel D input (6pin) is not used in ISO7340C, it is connected to GND as an empty pin treatment.

The corresponding pin of ISO7330C is NC, and on the data sheet,
"These pins have no internal connection"
In the explanation of, it seems that there is no problem because it is not connected internally. Is this correct?

In E2E, another product (ISO7730) has the same case question as this time, and the NC pin can be connected to GND.
I would like to confirm whether it is okay to think the same for ISO7330C, just in case.

I appreciate your great help in advance.

Best regards,

  • Hi Shinichi-san,

    Thanks for reaching out.

Customer's understanding is correct. The NC pin of ISO7330C is not connected internally. Hence, it is fine to connect it to GND and there shouldn't be any problem with it. Please go ahead and confirm customer that ISO7330C can be used in place of ISO7340C in their application. Thanks.
