Hi All,

I am planning to use ISO224BDWVR for sensing AC voltage of peak magnitude 650 V. But I see from the data sheet that it only has provision for positive supply from 5 V to 12 V. However, the analog input supply voltage range is from -15 V to 15 V. Please suggest whether I can sense AC voltage using ISO224BDWVR. If yes, please share some simulation waveforms mentioning the supply voltage and the input analog voltage.

If possible kindly also share the internal circuitry as to how it is measuring negative analog signal with only positive voltage

Hi Aradhya,

VDD1 of the ISO224 can be anywhere between 4.5V-18V and operates as specified in the datasheet. The device has an internal charge pump that allows this type of operation, I cannot disclose additional circuitry details beyond what I've stated.

Hi Alexander

Thank you for the response. I have one more query. If the supply voltage is 5 V and my input signal is 12 V, how the measurement is going to happen?

Hi Aradhya,

As I mentioned before, the device has an internal charge pump that allows this type of operation and I cannot disclose additional circuitry details beyond what I've stated. The internal charge pump increases the voltage internal to the device.
