ISO7720: isolation device for analog signals input

Part Number: ISO7720

Hi Sir,

My customer is looking a 2-ch isolation device for analog signals input(single-end) for AHD/TVI signals, the BW is 30MHz.

May I know if ISO7720 can be used?

If it can't, could you please advise a device to me?

  • Hello Henry,

Thank you for your question. The ISO7720 is a digital isolator. From what I can see the AHD/TVI standard uses an analog signal which the ISO7720 does not support.

However, TI has isolated analog solutions that may be more applicable to your application. I will notify the relevant product line.

    Best,

    Andrew

  • Hi Henry,

Like Andrew said, we do have analog to analog isolated amplifiers: and analog to digital isolated ADCs; however none of these devices are capable of measuring signals at 30MHz.

To measure an isolated 30MHz signal, I recommend selecting a high speed ADC to measure the signal on the high side of the isolated barrier, then transfer across the isolation barrier using a digital isolator. Keep in mind that a voltage rail to power the high side ADC and digital isolator will be necessary.

If the two signals you are measuring require isolation from each other, then you will need two high speed ADCs and digital isolators.

Please let me know if you have additional questions.
