SN6507: Recommended Transformer( Is it possible to use 750313734(wurth) for SN6507. )

Part Number: SN6507
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN6505B

Dear Specialists,

My customer is considering SN6507 and has a question.

I would be grateful if you could advise.

---

We are considering SN6507 for 5V to 5V isolated power supply.

In this case,  could it possible to use the transformer 750313734 (Wurth) which is recommended SN6505B.

Also, is it possible to use other transformers listed in the SN6505 datasheet work with the SN6507?

---

I appreciate your great help in advance.

Best regards,

Shinichi

  • Hi Inoue-san,

    Thanks for reaching out.

To ensure compatibility with the SN6507, the transformer used with this device needs have a V-t product and a turns ratio that is greater than the minimum V-t product and turns ratio specified by the SN6507 datasheet. The minimum values of both of these parameters are calculated using equations in the datasheet. Each of these equations uses parameters that are specific to the device application.

The equations for the minimum V-t product and the minimum turns ratio can both be found in Section 9.2.2.5 of the SN6507 datasheet. To determine if the 750313734 is compatible with this device, you can input your application specific values into these equations to calculate the minimum V-t prouduct and the minimum turns ratio. If the V-t product and the turns ratio of the transformer is greater than the minimum values that you have calculated using the datasheet equations, then this transformer will be compatible with this device.

If you have any further questions, please let me know.

    Regards,

    Kenneth
