Just to confirm, for the +/-70V bus fault protection, is that for CANH/CANL w/ respect to GND2?

Hi Jacob,

Yes. your understanding is correct. ISO1042 can withstand ±70-V DC bus fault and support ±30-V common-mode voltage range.
