ISO1050: Technical consultation

Part Number: ISO1050

Dears,

During the initial power on, ISO1050 worked normally. During the load test, the machine failed to connect. We measured and found that the resistance values of ISO1050 pin5 and pin8 were close to zero. What is the reason for this? Do you have any good suggestions? The circuit diagram is as follows:

  • Hi Allen,

Thank you for reaching out and sharing schematic.

Could you please help me with below information to better understand the issue and make necessary suggestions to debug?

    1. It is important that the decoupling capacitors of VCC1/VCC2 are placed close to device pins (preferably <2mm distance) so that noise transients get suppressed and do not appear at the VCC pins.
      1. To verify this, please share the PCB layout.
      2. It also helps to have an additional 1µF or 10µF capacitor on VCC2 for better filtering.
    2. Could you please elaborate what exactly is a load test and how it affects the voltage on CAN bus?
    3. Can you please share the schematic of isolated power supply that is generating isolated output voltage for VCC2?
