My customer has a question on isolation barrier. Can you give me your knowledge?

When an IC is broken by high voltage between secondary side pin and GND2, IC maintains "Isolation Rating"?

    Hi Shotaro-san,

    Thank you for reaching out.

    Please refer to the below white paper that talks about the two kinds of failures that could happen based on how high voltage is applied. The question you have posted is similar to Failure Mode 2 where high voltage is applied on pins with respect to local ground. In this case, reinforced isolation devices including ISOW1412 maintain basic isolation provided the safety limiting values are maintained. i.e., the currents into device are limited to the safety limiting current values listed in datasheet.
