What is an Opto-emulator?
Texas Instruments’ family of Opto-emulators exceeds traditional light-based isolation by combining TI’s proprietary SiO2 based isolation with nearly 20 years of experience investing in isolation technology.
Opto-emulators replicates the characteristics of traditional optocouplers to allow a quick upgrade to optocouplers applications without the traditional drawbacks of aging and thermal drift. When used with isolated power supplies, these devices block high voltages, isolate grounds, and prevent noise currents on a data bus from entering the local ground and interfering with or damaging sensitive circuitry.
