ISOUSB111: USB to USB

Part Number: ISOUSB111
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ISOUSB211

We'd like to know what TI solution is able to address USB application as below diagram. Is that ISOUSB111 able to do so?

CPU in the IPC system that is only supporting USB Host side. And there are two scenarios in applications to access USB port from external side.

Scenario 1. External PC to do the software download to IPC/PAC by USB port.

Scenario 2. Insert a memory device on the USB port.

Is ISOUSB111 able to judge if it's host or device on downstream port? Or what suited solution you suggested?

Application: IPC/PAC industrial motion controller

  • Hi Brian,

Thank you for reaching out and for sharing details about your requirements.

I understand that the CPU in IPC needs to be connected to both PC and a memory device one at a time. For this to be possible, the CPU needs to be an OTG which should work as a peripheral when connected to a PC and should work as a host when connected to a memory device. If the IPC is an OTG then ISOUSB devices can be used to this port.

If customer only needs Full-Speed (FS) then they can use ISOUSB111 but if they need High-Speed (HS), then ISOUSB211 would be the option to support it.

Let me know if you have any questions, thanks.
