ISO1042: test the CAN function with no-isolated power supply

Part Number: ISO1042

Hi team,

My customer is using our ISO1042.

And they want to test the CAN function with no-isolated power supply like below: (5V for VCC2 and LDO use 5V to 3.3V to VCC1)

Could you please kindly help check if they can use this kind of power supply when they only want to test CAN function?

Thanks,

Brian

  • Hi Brian,

As long as both sides are powered to a voltage within recommended operation conditions, the device will power on and operate. However, if you are using a non-isolated supply the isolation barrier and parameters cannot be accurately tested since the isolation barrier will be bypassed.

    Best,
