ISO7741: ISO7741FDBQ

Part Number: ISO7741
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ISO7740, ISO7763

Team,

Seeking your help in finding and Alt to P/N ISO7741FDBQ with input pin# 3,4, 5 & 6 be as an output and the output PN# 11, 12, 13 and 14  be as an input, ie the reverse way.

Attached data sheet page#4 as a reference

Thanks in advance for your support

  • Hello,

    Thank you for your question.

If I understand correctly, you are asking the direction of the input and output to be switched.

The isolator can be rotated 180 degrees in order for the channels to be in a reversed orientation, where VCC1 and VCC2 are at the bottom and GND1 and GND2 are at the top. Please see image below:

  • Hi Team,

My apology I have given you the wrong Fig#, it should be Fig#6-2 for P/N ISO7741FDBQ

We would like an Alt that would look be (mirror image of Fig#6-2)

Please advise if TI has an Alt P/N with the drawing above.

  • Hello,

Thank you for your clarification. I am assuming you mean that you would like pins 3,4,5 to be outputs and pin 6 to be input while pins 14,15,16 become input and pin 11 becomes output.

For this configuration our recommendation is the same as what I recommended before: The isolator can be rotated 180 degrees in order for the channels to be in a reversed orientation, where VCC1 and VCC2 are at the bottom and GND1 and GND2 are at the top. Please see image below:

    ISO7741FDBQ Normal Orientation                                          ISO7741FDBQ rotated 180 degrees

We do not offer a part specifically with 3 forward channels and 1 reverse channel.

  • Team,

The orientation you have shared above will not work right if we rotate the IC by 180degrees. We get 1 forward channel and 3 reverse channels and also the ground and VCC will be shorted on board. Please confirm if there are other solutions.

  • Team,

my bad, I have given you the wrong image. please see the correct configuration below on the right, with internal configuration has changed (inside the chip)

The original configuration is on the left, seeking for Alt with configuration on the right

Also wondering if there is a cross reference with SSOP-16, digital isolator with same orientation on the right

  • Hello,

    Thank you for the reply.

Unfortunately we currently do not offer a full reverse four channel digital isolator device or a device with 3 reverse channels and 1 forward channel.

As I mentioned before, a possible solution could be rotating the ISO7740/ISO7741 device.

Another solution is to use the ISO7763 device, which has 3 forward channels and 3 reverse channels. Please feel free to check the product page for ISO7763: ISO7763 data sheet, product information and support | TI.com
