SN6507: Frequency tolerance when using a resistor to select it

Part Number: SN6507

Hi,

I need to use a lower switching frequency to optimize efficiency.

In order to correctly design the isolation transformer, I need to know the tolerance of frequency when using an ideal resistor of 22 kOhm (about 500 kHz switching frequency).

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to find this info in the component datasheet.

Regards,

Roberto Vigliarolo

  • Hi Roberto,

Welcome to TI E2E forum and thank you for your interest in SN6507!

Sorry that this information is not available in datasheet. Based on the switching frequency range provided in datasheet for RCLK = 0kΩ (see snapshot below), the variation is expected to be about ±30%. Please allow me to check with design/test team and get a confirmation on this, thanks.

  • Hi Roberto,

Sorry that it took longer than I anticipated to get back to you.
I have checked with the team on this and the team confirms that the variation in frequency at 500kHz is going to be ±16% (and not ±30%). Let me know if you have any other questions, thanks.
