do we have a safety manual for the ISO1640DWR ?

My customer wants to do safety analysis and needs information on failure modes and their associated rates.

In addition, could you please confirm that the device in case of short circuit on one of pins will “fail open” and not "fail short"?

Thank you for reaching out. We do not have a safety manual for ISO1640; however you can find ISO1640-Q1 Functional Safety FIT Rate, FMD and Pin FMA in the product folder.

All TI isolators can be considered "fail open" in the event of a single side failure provided the current is limited and the safety limiting values are observed. This will ensure that the maximum junction temperature is not exceeded, and a secondary failure will not be caused by the package heating up.

We cover this in more detail in Understanding failure modes in isolators (Rev. B) (ti.com).
