Hi Team,

Why the recommend design of ISOW1412 is different from THVD1500? Thanks in advance.

ISOW1412: connect inverting output with non-inverting output, inverting input with non-inverting input

THVD1500: connect inverting output with inverting input, non-inverting output with non-inverting input

The ISOW14x2 is full duplex. The THVD1500 is half duplex. You can use ISOW14x2 in a half-duplex system by connecting the inputs and outputs together (see the internal schematic of the THVD1500 above).

As for the A/B confusion, this is just an error; nobody expected you to count the twists.

Hello Francis,

Clemens is correct. The difference shown is because ISOW14x2 is full duplex while the THVD1500 is half duplex. You can configure the ISOW14x2 as a half-duplex device if that is needed. (+) [FAQ] ISO1452: [FAQ] How to configure a RS485 Full-duplex transceiver as Half-duplex?
