SN6505B: What is the soft-start time with 10uF load

I'm trying to get a soft-start time of around 1ms with an SN6505B to synchronise with an SN6051 + LDO with 1ms soft-start. According to the data sheet, with a load capacitance of 40uF, the start-up time is approximately 4ms. Can I estimate that the soft-start time with a load of 10uF is approximately 1ms?

Hello Daniel,

Thank you for reaching out. The soft-start for SN6505B is a fixed value. The minimum and maximum ranges will be the same for 10uF. The ranges are accurate for load capacitances up to 40uF.

Hi Andrew,

The range is quite broad so I assumed it would be controllable by changing the RC constant, it seems this is not the case. Do you just specify quite a large range because it is not a very tightly controlled parameter?

Hello Daniel,

Yes, the soft start is not a tightly controlled parameter which is why range is wide. Changing the RC constant shouldn't have a large effect.
