SN6507: Calculating RDC using duty cycle equation

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN6507-Q1

400kHZ means Rclk = 30k ?

If I want to 40% duty cycle, VCC= 14.5 V, Rdc = 145kΩ?

I want to reduce the static power consumption. Maybe reducing the fSW will be helpful.

PS: Is there anything wrong in the datasheet? Duty cycle has nothing to do with Rilim.

  • Hello Gang,

I went ahead and created a new thread from your reply since it was a different topic. Please see the answers to each question below.

    1. 400kHZ means Rclk = 30k?
      1. Yes, that is correct.
    2. If I want to 40% duty cycle, VCC= 14.5 V, Rdc = 145kΩ
      1. Yes, is there a reason why you want to change the duty cycle?
    3. I want to reduce the static power consumption. Maybe reducing the fSW will be helpful.
      1. Even when you reduce the switching frequency, the current will not change much.
    4. PS: Is there anything wrong in the datasheet? Duty cycle has nothing to do with Rilim.
      1. Yes, Rilim should say RCLK = 9.6. The SN6507-Q1 datasheet has been fixed/updated.

    Best,
    Andrew
