ISO1050: Data rate 10kbps

Hi TI Team,

Our customer required CAN communication with minimal baud rate of 10kbps.

Accordingly the datasheet it is possible.

SLLS983L – JUNE 2009 – REVISED OCTOBER 2023

Dominant time out, tTXD_DTO – min 1,2ms

Minimum Data Rate = 11 / tTXD_DTO -> 9,2kbps

But our test shows an error.

It looks like we are using an old revision of the IC.

SLLS983J –JUNE 2009–REVISED SEPTEMBER 2019

Dominant time out, tTXD_DTO – min 300us

Minimum Data Rate = 11 / tTXD_DTO -> 37kbps

Unfortunately, both data sheets have the same ordering code - ISO1050DWR.

Please provide us with the complete order code for the current revision of ISO1050.

This device is made at two fabs. Apparently, they still make different die revisions.

You cannot control the source when ordering.

The ISO1044 or ISO1042 would have a 1.2 ms timeout.

Thanks for the reply.

1. I don't think so. It is unacceptable that the user receives a IC that does not match the datasheet.

2. ISO1042 is not pin compatible. PCB redesign is required.

As Clemens suggested, these are different die revisions. New material ordered should comply with the current datasheet available on TI.com. Thank you for showing the datasheet revisions you are using. I will review this to my team and discuss revisions.
