ISO7721: Question of ISO7721B

Hi Team,

Whether there is a mistake at below table? ISO7721B.

As on the first page, there is a sentence that "The ISO7721B device is designed for
applications that require basic insulation ratings only".

I am confused here.

The letter "B" refers to Basic Isolation, which is a type of isolation that provides basic level of safety against electrical shocks. Hi Aaditya,

Thanks for your explanation, as I shown in the question, ISO7721B marked as a reinforced device, which isolation voltage is 5kVrms. Could you please help check it again? Thanks.

Hi Francis,

The Isolation voltage is more dependent on the package type. Please see the image below of the Insulation Specifications table in the Datasheet which shows the package options and respective isolation voltage rating.

Since isolation rating is more of concern, this can be confirmed on the safety certifications table of the datasheet. Please see the image below:
