ISOM8110: What is the max propagation delay

Part Number: ISOM8110

Tool/software:

e2e,

What is the max value for ISOM811x propagation delay?

In case of Opto-Coupler, there is the manufacturing variation, and it affects CTR and the delay time values.

For example, when RL=10kΩ and Ta=55deg-C, Ts of TLP291 (GB rank) is approximately 100us-max.

Does TI opto-emulator have same manufacturing variation?

Thank you,

Adam

  • Hi Adam,

Yes, there will be some CTR variation with opto-emulator as well due to the tolerances in manufacturing. But the CTR will still remain in the range that is specified in the datasheet through the life of device. While, with the opto-coupler, there will be manufacturing differences and there will be degradation of CTR due to aging. This happens because the light produced by LED inside opto-coupler dimineshes over a period of time.

Since there is no such LED in opto-emulators, this aging effect doesn't happen to TI opto-emulator devices. Our devices will remain in specification throughout device's life and there is no degradation of CTR due to aging. Thanks.

  • Hi Koti,

    Thank you for your reply.

Is it possible to show Ts-MAX value @Ta=55C, Rl=10kΩ?

We know the higher Ta (from 25C to 55C), the shorter Ts (Fig6-26 in the D/S), and we want to know the Ts-max value when Rl is changed from 4.7k to 10k.

    Best regards,

    M.Tahara

  • Hi Tahara-san,

Sorry, we only have the worst-case value specified for this device and do not have "ts" for test condition with TA = 55C and RL = 10kΩ. Thanks.
