ISO6760: Regarding the Characterization and graph on datasheet

Part Number: ISO6760

Tool/software:

We have received questions about the ISO676x series.
Kindly please answer two questions. Thanks.

ISO6760FDWR   www.ti.com/.../iso6760.pdf

- The CMTI value has changed from current 130 to proposed 150 in the revision of Datasheet Ver C to D (Sections "6.9", "6.11" and "6.13") in May 2022.
We would like to know the reasons for these changes.

- The notation of product life span has changed in "Fig. 9-8".
The life spans have changed as follows. Please explain why they have become shorter.
Also, the x-axis of the graphs in datasheet Ver.D and later versions starts at 200. It is difficult to compare with previous versions. Could you please provide a graph where the x-axis starts at 500?

VDE Safety Margin Zone : 254Yrs to 54 Yrs
Operating Zone : 135Yrs to 36 Yrs

Junji,

  • Hi Junji-san,

    Thank you for reaching out.
Most of TI employees are currently away from work due to Christmas and New Year holidays. Please allow us to come back to you in the beginning of January 2025, thanks.

  • Hi Junji-san,

    - The CMTI value has changed from current 130 to proposed 150 in the revision of Datasheet Ver C to D (Sections "6.9", "6.11" and "6.13") in May 2022.
We would like to know the reasons for these changes.

The CMTI spec was updated to reflect the performance of the isolator device more accurately.

Also, the x-axis of the graphs in datasheet Ver.D and later versions starts at 200. It is difficult to compare with previous versions. Could you please provide a graph where the x-axis starts at 500?

The standard VDE 0884-11 has been replaced by the latest version VDE 0884-17, this is a German standard. Therefore, we have update all our datasheets to specify that we comply to the latest international standard. Most customers would prefer that we are rated for the latest international standard. The IEC 60747-17 redefined the lifetime margin from 87.5% to 50%. This is why we have updated our TDDB plots to match the new standard. As a result of change in margin, the lifetime has also changed.
