ISOW1412: A/B Bus Line resister

Part Number: ISOW1412

Tool/software:

Hi,

https://www.ti.com/lit/ug/sllu334/sllu334.pdf

Our customer is developing an isolated RS485 transceiver based on the above, but what purpose does the resistor on the A/B bus line in this document?
It's in series so it looks like a current limiting resistor.

Best regards,
Hiroshi

  • Hi Hiroshi-San,

Yes, that is correct. The Resistors are in series with TVS Diode to limit the current through TVS.

This is recommended for high energy events like EFT and surge, where the diodes will help both in performance and protection.
