ISO6762-Q1: Supply current consumption

Hi, 

From the datasheet of ISO6762-Q1 we have the following information: 

But which of these currents should be considered when I am using the ISO6762F ? My inputs have both HIGH and LOW states , in that case what would be current consumption for the IC for my application ?

    The image you have included is only for DC state conditions, meaning if it is only HIGH or only LOW state.

    No tsure If I am understanding properly but here are two scenarios that I will answer:

    1. If you mean that there is switching of the signal between HIGH and LOW at a certain frequency, you can look at the AC signal section of the supply current characteristics table:

      Using the system frequency, you can approximate the current consumption. For example, if you data rate is 10Mbps, then you can look at the ICC1 and ICC2 specs for where it says 10Mbps.
    2. If you mean that some channels are HIGH while other channels are low, knowing the exact current consumption would be a bit more difficult since there are reverse channels. But, you can still approximate it. The ISO6762F-Q1 device has a default state of LOW, so when the CD signal is 0V, then the current consumption would be lower for the channel. if the DC signal is HIGH, then the current consumption would be higher for the channel.

    Thank you for the response. Yes, I am interested in situation (2). Some channels are HIGH and some are LOW at a particular instance of time. In that case, how can I estimate the total current consumption ? Lets assume 3 channels are HIGH and 3 are LOW. Could you please explain how then I can estimate the total supply current ?

    Since this is a 4 forward 2 reverse channel configuration device, it is not as straightforward. The table is tested data for the whole side of the device. I would be estimating this with simple math but assuming the half the channels are high and half the channels are low, the ICC1 would be between 2.7mA and 6.9mA while ICC2 would be between 3.3mA and 5.6mA, presumably halfway between the two values. 

    I hope this makes sense on how to estimate. It is not as straightforward since the data is tested for and not a calculated value.
