ISO1644: Whether this device can drive other digital signal?

Hi Team,

Whether this device can be used to drive other digital signal not I2C signal. Such as 40kHz 3.3V digital signal, customer likes the bi-direction function. Is there any risk? Thanks.

The bidirectional communication works only because I²C uses open-drain signals. Other protocols using open-drain signals, e.g., 1-Wire, will work.

Hi Francis,

As Clemens suggested, yes it can be used for bidirectionality but only with pull ups installed on SCL SDA Lines.
