ISOUSB211: USB Isolator Design Without External 1.8V Power Supply

Part Number: ISOUSB211

Tool/software:

Hello,

I am working on a new design that incorporates a USB isolator. While reviewing typical applications, I noticed that it is possible to use the USB isolator without an external 1.8V power supply.

Is there a reference design available for this configuration? Additionally, has anyone implemented it in this manner? If so, I would appreciate any insights or recommendations.

Thank you.

  • Hi Chen,

    Thanks for reaching out.

Yes, that is correct. Currently we don't have any separate reference design for this because all the details are mentioned in datasheet explicitly.

The ISOUSB211 can be configured with different supply options which in detail is mentioned in section 8.3.1 in Datasheet.

Also, an example configuration for operation without external 1.8V LDO is explained with connections in section 10.3.3 and Figure 10-6 in the Datasheet.

    Hope this resolves your query.

    Regards
    Varun
