ISO7710-Q1: VCC1 supply decoupling cap layout suggestion

Part Number: ISO7710-Q1

Tool/software:

Hi team,

Does VCC1 (pin1 and pin3) internally connected? Customer wants to place the supply decoupling cap as close to IC pin as possible, but as there are two VCC1 pin, they want to know if a decoupling cap close to pin3 pin4 is good enough? If so, could they leave pin1 floating or decoupling cap a little bit far away from pin1 is not big issue? Customer fix layout very soon, appreciate your feedback,

Thx

Scarlett

  • Hi Scarlett,

    Thank you for reaching out.

Pin 1 and Pin 3 are both internally connected. If necessary, the customer can leave one of the pins NC/floating. Considering this, the decoupling capacitor can be placed closest to any VCC1 pin. Please keep the decoupling capacitor <2mm away from VCC pin on PCB layout.

We do recommend keeping both pins connected to VCC1 as an open active pin can be more susceptible to noise coupling.
