ISOM8115: Part-to-part skew of CTR

Part Number: ISOM8115
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ISOM8110

Tool/software:

Hello,

I wanted to know if there is any reliable statistical data, like standard deviations or mean values, of the ISOM8115 (or ISOM8110) collected, that could be shared besides the Min- and Max- Values from the datasheet.

For example I would like to know how much deviation is expectable from the typical mean value over 100s or 1000s of parts.

Background: For a project I need a very predictable behaviour from the Optocoupler (or emulator in this case), so further information on statistics would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance. Regards,

Steven

  • Hi Steven,

    Thanks for reaching out.

The Datasheet Min and Max Limit is including all the deviations possible based on Temperature, IF and also device to device to variations(more than 1000s). Hence, Our recommendation is to design your application keeping the Datasheet Min Max into consideration only.

The Statistical numbers that you're asking for can change with time and device lot, but these numbers can never violate datasheet Min Max.

If you want a tight CTR range then recommendation is to have IF=5mA where CTR variation is least as per datasheet. (Refer Section 6.7)
