SN6505A: Need a part alternate.

Hello Team,

In my current design I am using SN6505 part. It has a maximum Vdd limit of 5.5V, I need a part that can tolerate voltage of upto 7-10V.

Could you please suggest me such part.

Hi Shinu,

Wanted to knoe if i can use 760390015 transformer with SN6507 driver ? If not could you please suggest a 1:2 ratio driver as my input is 5V and i need a 10V output from the transformer section.

Hi Shinu,

The output current requirement from the transformer after a rectification would be less than 200mA.

But is the SN6507 reliable on a 5V input ? The datasheet says that we can go from 3V to 36V but vo voltage input to the driver and the transformer would be 5V. Ideally we would like to have a 1:2 conversion ratio of the transformer to have 10V on the output side of the transformer.

Hi Karthik,

In the earlier query you mentioned, "I need a part that can tolerate voltage of up to 7-10V".

Is 7V to 10V is your operating input voltage or expecting spikes or transients up to10V. Consider adding TVS or E-fuse devices incase of spikes or transients.

SN6507 operate at 5V but the max switch current at this range is limited to 400mA and 10V/200mA will be challenging.
