ISOM8710: input signal slew rate

Part Number: ISOM8710

Tool/software:

Hi team,

My customer would like to know how this IC respond to slow input signal. If the input slew rate is very low, will there be a possibility of the output to chatter?
Or will the input current hysteresis prevent the ouput to chatter? My customer would like to know if there is minimum slew rate requirement for the input signal.

  • Hello Ohashi-san,

Thank you for reaching out. The input hysteresis should prevent output chattering and there is no minimum slew rate requirement. The hysteresis spec essentially creates an upper threshold and a lower threshold. The input will not switch the output as long as the input does not vary more than 0.26mA after crossing the other region.

The Comparator with Hysteresis Reference Design document has some helpful images to show the effects of hysteresis.

    Best,
    Andrew
