ISOW1412: Half-duplex

Hi All,

A and Y are shorted, and B and Z are shorted to enable half-duplex communication.
I'm sometimes having trouble switching between transmit and receive in 485 communication.
When transmitting from ISO1412, set the DE and RE pins high.
When receiving, set the DE and RE pins low.
In this way, DE and RE are switched between transmit and receive.
Is there any need to consider the timing when switching?
For example, do I need to wait a few seconds after switching, etc.

Also, can you confirm that the following pin settings are correct?

EN/FLT=High
IN=GISOIN pull-down
OUT=Open
The MODE pin is set to open because VDD=VIO=3.3V.

Regarding the ISOW1412 switching, there appears to have been an issue with the MCU.
The customer resolved the issue themselves.

I have an additional question.
The ISOW1412 send and receive commands (DE, /RE) are controlled from the MCU and switched simultaneously.
Are there any restrictions, such as a wait time (which stops both send and receive), when switching?

Hello Ishiwata,

No. there are no such timing spec related to ISOW1412

The DE and RE and can even be connected together and given to one single control, since they are complementary to each other
