ISOUSB211: ISOUSB211 schematic review

Part Number: ISOUSB211

usb isolation-TI.pdf

Hi Sir,

Could you help to review the attaced schematic for Isolated Peripheral - Bus-Powered application?

Side 1 is connected to Tablet via USB type C plug and side 2 is connected to MCU. Thanks.

  • Hi Jesse,

Thanks for reaching out. Please find my inputs below:

If the ISO_VBUS2 = 3.3V, then VBUS2 and V3P3V2 needs to be shorted together.

I request you to refer section 7.3.1 in the datasheet for different power supply options:

For your particular application, figure 8-2 illustrates the connections required under section 8.1.2

  • Hi Varun,

Could you help to check if the highlighted Vcc1 should be Vcc2?

Could you also help to review the new schematic as attachment? Thanks.

    1.  VCC_V1P8V1 comes from a 1.8V LDO derived from USB 5V.

    2. ISO_VBUS2 comes from a local 3.3V LDO.

    3. U230 is a isolated DC-DC converter.

  • Hi Jesse,

Yes, it should be VCC2. Good catch, we'll update this in the next revision of the datasheet.

The schematics looks good to go for ISOUSB211 since you shorted the VBUS2 and V3P3V2 now.
