Part Number: ISO1640
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: INA233, TMP1075
Hi sir,
Can I2C master and slave beswappable on side1 and side 2 of ISO1640?
Must side1 for master, side 2 for slave or it doesn't matter?
Thanks a lot!

Hi Sean,
Master should always be connected on Side1 of ISO1640 as a single node connection.
This is mentioned in datasheet as well.

Hi Varun,
Customer use ISO1640 as below:
1. Side 1 connect EC Host Side: INA233 x 2 + TMP1075 x1 + LTC3350 x1
2. Side 2 connect Device side INA233
Customer wants to check if side1 & side has the same protection, surge capability?
Hi Sean,
Thanks for the clarification.
Please give us a few extra days to get back due to the Holidays.

Hi Sean,
Please provide a proper block diagram for us to review the connection on Side1 and Side2. I have already mentioned earlier that the Side1 needs to be connected to only one node but I'm not sure how customer is connecting so many devices on Side1.
Alos, there is no surge protection built inside the device. Customer will need to use external protection diodes for surge immunity
