ISO6421: ISO6421 Level Shifter

Part Number: ISO6421

Hi TI Team,

I'm using ISO6421 in my isolated CAN application and utilizing its level shifting feature (3.3V to 5V translation).

Application Context:

I'll have two CAN-BUS variants:

  1. Isolated CAN (using ISO6421 with isolation)
  2. Non-isolated CAN (same PCB layout, different variant)

Question:

Can I use ISO6421 without its isolation function - purely as a level translator (3.3V to 5V) for the non-isolated variant?

This would allow us to use the same PCB design and component placement for both variants, only changing the population/configuration.

Is this a supported use case, or should I use a dedicated level translator for the non-isolated variant?

Regards
