Part Number: ISOW1044

Hi Team,
Please confirm whether the ISOW1044 part number supports ARINC Specification 825-1

  • Hi Venkata,

Thanks for reaching out. Please find my inputs below:

Yes, the ISOW1044 is compatible with ARINC 825 (and by extension ARINC 825-1), though it is not explicitly certified against it. Here's the reasoning from the official datasheet:

    Why ISOW1044 Supports ARINC 825-1

ARINC 825 is built on top of the ISO 11898-2 CAN physical layer standard. The ISOW1044 fully meets ISO 11898-2:2016, which is the foundational standard that ARINC 825 extends.
The datasheet explicitly states (also your snapshot attached above):
"Many CAN organizations and standards have scaled the use of CAN for applications outside the original ISO 11898-2 Standard... Examples of some of these specifications are ARINC 825, CANopen, DeviceNet, and NMEA2000."
This confirms that the ISOW1044 is suitable for use in ARINC 825-based networks.

Key ISOW1044 Capabilities Relevant to ARINC 825-1

    Feature ISOW1044 Specification
    CAN Standard Compliance ISO 11898-2:2016
Classical CAN Data Rate Up to 1 Mbps White check mark (ARINC 825 requires up to 1 Mbps)
CAN FD Support Up to 5 Mbps
Bus Fault Protection ±58 V DC
    Common-Mode Voltage Range ±12 V
ESD Protection (Bus Pins) 8 kV per IEC 61000-4-2
Isolation 5 kVRMS (reinforced, per UL1577)
Max Nodes on a Single Bus Up to 100 transceivers theoretically
    Operating Temperature –40°C to +125°C

     Important Note

The ISOW1044 datasheet does not explicitly certify compliance with ARINC 825-1 as a whole system-level standard. ARINC 825-1 involves additional network-level, addressing, and message-layer requirements beyond the physical layer. The ISOW1044 handles the physical layer portion. Full ARINC 825-1 compliance requires the CAN controller/host microcontroller to implement the higher-layer protocols.
