what does Max Vce=600v as mentioned in datasheet of ISO5500 mean?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ISO5452

I have STW40N95K53N-channel 950 V, 0.110 Ohm ,38 A ,MDmesh K5 Power MOSFET . But my Vds is not exceeding 600V can I use ISO5500 as my gate driver or should go for ISO5452 or some higher Vce rating gate driver

  • Hi Nitesh,

What is the supply voltage is on the secondary side of gate driver?
Can you also please provide some more details regarding your design. Is it an inverter design?

    Regards,

  • Thanks Anand Reghunathan
yes its a three phase inverter design and i want to generate a gate pulse from DSP(TMS28335) 0-3.3V. I m supplying secondary side with +15V and -15 V DC generated from flyback on board i m attaching schematic of my circuit .
I m also attaching Gate Driver output Vgs which i got without putting any load across Drain and source of my IGBT (1MBH50D) .Is there a problem in my gate driver circuit or should i test by connecting load.

Note:i have not used +15V and -15V zener in my board till now and used 10uF capacitor instead of 4.7uF for c02 different from as shown in schematic

Edit: This is the VGS after adding +-15V  zener across Gate and source should i go on adding snubber and Load across switch now

  • It was a problem due to snubber circuit of flyback made to supply secondary of ISO5500 , It worked finally but without load till now
