ISO5851

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ISO5851

LOOK CAN SOMEONE PLEASE GET THIS TO THE CORRECT LOCATION

VIEW THE DRAWING AND LET ME NO IF YOU SEE ANY ISSUES WITH THE LAYOUT

I SENT ONLY ONE PHASE PHASE SO YOU CAN SEE HOW THE UNIT IS SETUP DRIVER LAYOUT USING THE ISO5851.pdf

THIS NEEDS TO GO TO POWER SUPPLY SECTION

  • Hi,

I see that the attached file is a schematic and not PCB layout. The schematic looks okay.

  • WHAT IS THE TOP SWITCHING SPEED FOR THE PART
  • Hi Willie,

The maximum switching frequency for ISO5851 is determined by the amount of power required by the load which generally is an IGBT. The maximum output power ISO5851 can deliver safely is POL-WC = 109.25 at 125C. Please use Equation 5 from Section 10.2.2.9 of ISO5851 datasheet to calculate maximum switching frequency that can be applied at the inputs of ISO5851.

The output power capability of ISO5851 can be increased by lowering operating temperature and optimizing board design while ensuring that Junction Temperature of ISO5851 doesn't exceed 150C.

  • OKAY ,
NOW LETS SAY I USE THE PART NUMBER TC4452 DRIVER AS A BUFFER
SO NOW THE ISO5851 GOES INTO THE BUFFER THE OUT PUT THE OUTPUT OF THE BUFFER( TC4452 ) GOES TO THE MOSFET.
SO NOW AT THE OUTPUT OF THE BUFFER WILL GO BACK TO THE CLAMP PIN FOR TURN OFF.
SD NOW THE ISO5851 HAS NO STRESS BECAUSE THE TC4452 IS THE MAIN DRIVER FOR THE GATE.
