    The spacing depends on working voltage as well as the temporary over voltage and surge voltage. It also depends on the material group of the laminate material used in the PCB. Please refer to the below document for a discussion on these interdependencies for motor drives. Depending on the final product, end application safety standards dictate these requirements.

    For 2.5 kV isolation, and assuming your working voltage is low ( 200 - 300 Vs), a spacing of 4.0 mm should be enough.
